COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH AND WATER ABSORPTION OF CEMENT-LOCUST BEAN WASTE ASH BLEND FOR LATCRETE BLOCKS PRODUCTION

This paper investigates the compressive strength and water absorption properties of cement-locust bean waste ash blend for latcrete block production. Locust was burned in open air later calcined at a temperature 600°C 3 hours to activate amorphous content produced. The locust used replace cement 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% 30% by weight production 9” hollow blocks. A mix ratio 1:6 adopted making. Various tests were carried out on materials make sure it is up required standard. Compressive test result with LBWA conducted gave promising enhancement after 28 days curing. research concludes that blocks could be utilized construction industries building purposes better durability properties.
